Advanced Planning is important and responsible. Yet, in the late ’00s when we first sought-out an Advanced Planning service like ICEPlan, we found none.  We could cobble together a few disparate services, but no purpose-built service existed for pragmatic-minded folks who need all of their important Advanced Planning documents all in one secure location.

So we began speaking to experts and conducting our own research. What we learned was informative and often surprising.

• 1 of 4 Americans has not completed any in-case-of-emergency Advanced Planning.
• 8 in 10 parents of minor children have to established legal guardianship.
• While most agree that Advanced Planning is important and responsible—they do not want to burden family with decisions—the top action barriers are time and expense.
